Power – Strength – Harmonious Clarity

Led by a luminary of the choral world Dale Warland, the True Concord season begins with a flare – exploring the unique draw and power of the choral music of Scandinavia and the Baltics.

  • The dramatic and ephemeral beauty of northern European music is reminiscent of the mysterious and magical aurora borealis – a dazzling spectacle for all who experience it.
  • And, the impact of vocal music in this region has reached beyond the world of the arts. Estonia has been called a “country created through music.” Along with Latvia and Lithuania, it overthrew a violent occupation with the non-violent “Singing Revolution.” Click here to view the program.

Experience for yourself the power of voices lifted in song!

American conductor, composer, and teacher Dale Warland founded the GRAMMY-nominated Dale Warland Singers. Known for its flawless sound, technical finesse and stylistic range, the Dale Warland Singers became the pre-eminent American choir. Over six decades, he commissioned more than 270 new choral works and fostered the careers of an entire generation of composers. Warland’s many honors include four ASCAP awards for adventurous programming and a GRAMMY nomination. In 2012 Warland was inducted into the American Classical Music Hall of Fame, one of only two choral conductors to receive this honor.

With a tradition of song festivals amassing choirs of 30,000 voices, joined by audiences of more than 100,000 people, northern lands are said to have more composers and musicians per capita than anywhere else on the globe.

Dale Warland’s brilliant career has made a profound contribution to the music of our time. Don’t miss this rare chance to see him conducting True Concord in Tucson!
