Naomi DeVries Pomerantz

    Naomi DeVries Pomerantz’s flexible voice and many musical interests have led her to varied working experiences. As a professional chorister, she was beloved at St. Luke in the Fields (NYC) and at St. Paul’s, K St (Washington, DC). In New York, she also appeared with the New York Virtuoso Singers, and was a soloist in Orpheon Chorale’s Amahl and the Night Visitors at Lincoln Center. She also created and performed in a cabaret act in Greenwich Village. Washington DC saw her perform with the Washington Bach Consort, the Bach Sinfonia, the Countertop Quartet, the Woodley Ensemble, and Chantry as chorister or soloist. She also performed the winning composition at the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition at the Kennedy Center. She is the mezzo soloist on St Paul’s K Street’s CD, We Sing of God. Currently residing in Bellingham, WA, she serves as the children’s choir director and cantor at St Paul’s Episcopal Church and teaches voice at Bellinghome School of Music. She also advises the choir of Iglesia de Nueva Jerusalem. She holds a bachelor of fine arts in musical theatre from Point Park University.
