Ryan Downey

    Ryan Downey (bass-baritone) graduated with honors from Arizona State University, receiving his Bachelor’s in Voice Performance. He received his Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music where he won the Elizabeth Stoeckler Stevens Prize in German Lieder. At CIM, he had the opportunity to work and coach with Michael Tilson Thomas, Warren Jones, Lori Laitman, and George Darden. Throughout is career, Mr. Downey has performed roles in Così fan tutte, Ariadne auf Naxos, La traviata, Gianni Schicchi, Le nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte, Don Giovanni, Handel’s Serse, and Gallantry.

    He is currently a member of True Concord, the Phoenix Chorale, Arizona Opera Chorus, and Trinity Cathedral Choir and teaches voice in his private voice studio and at Phoenix College.
